As Commissioner of Frederick County we have been using Laserfiche
(Unity) for about seven years. It is a marvelous tool. You can
retrieve records immediately from your desk top computer - no file
cabinets or searching for misfiled paperwork. It can be quite secure
if you have good IT and server protection. Several quick means are
available for storing records - such as account numbers - so that all
documents can be saved into one place for that individual or business -
what a life saver for our commercial division! The scanning process is
quick and in some cases instantaneous/automatic. Other departments in
the County also have used it for Planning records, Supervisor minutes,
Human Resources store data files on all employees, vendor information
and invoices in Finance and dozens of other uses.

I work at Norfolk PD and we use laserfiche for scanning in the forms for
felons/sex offenders when they come to register, taxi permit
applications and a bunch more. We also use it to scan all the
fingerprint cards that come from booking. We initially started using it
so we could keep those instead of the hard copies but our court systems
prefer the hard copies.

We use Laserfiche (Unity Business System) for long-term student record
retention, employee records, school board minutes and policy retention.
We have set-up several other folders to begin using it to store
long-term building inspection/testing reports. We have used Laserfiche
for over 12 years. Additionally the county uses it in their purchasing
department.

In addition to the ease of use, the support from Unity Business Systems
and Laserfiche is tremendous. Your questions are answered promptly and
training is available frequently.

Good morning!

Our town is currently looking at Laserfiche as an option for our records
management. If your organization is already using Laserfiche, could you
please respond with a short comment about how well it works for you,
what you like most/least, what other uses you've found for Laserfiche in
your organization, and whether you'd recommend the program?

Thank you,
