We have had shredding contracts for our records and office paper containing PII or other protected information since 1996. All other paper and records are recycled under another contract. We specify our requirements for each contract and it is awarded after competitive bid. We have the vendor pick up our locked bins every week and we "spot check" the shredding of our paper via periodic unannounced site visits. We currently contract with EnTrust through their Newport News facility.

What are your experiences/recommendations for shredding services?
We currently use a major vendor for pickup and destruction of loose paper in locked containers, as well as shredding by the SRC and another vendor for boxes stored at their facilities.
I am also interested in a shred truck to handle large-scale shredding of boxed material on-site.
