From the book "57th Virginia Infantry" by Charles W. Sublett:
Peters, William enl 7/21/61 Pig River in Co. C. AWOL 10/26/01 to 12/61;
present thru 6/63. KIA Gettysburg 7/4/63.
BTW, my GGF was also in the 57th (Co. A) and was wounded and captured at
Gettysburg. They participated in 'Pickett's Charge'.
