Not silly atall. The age makes no difference, only the number of generations you do NOT share in common; in your case he does not share you #5; that is, that cousin is not as far "removed" as you are. So, since 4th G-Gpaw is the most recent common ancestor, you are his fifth cousin, once removed. Paul
