Information found in a Carroll County, VA history book, written by John Perry

Alderman, tells us the following re: Ephraim Dickens (Sr.):

"Nothing is known about his (Ephraim Sr.) family, but from old tax records it

appears that he had sons born as early as 1780 and suspicion is that James,
Thomas, Shadrack and Ephraim Jr. were among them. The name Shadrack and the
proximity of Dickens to the Collier settlement in the 1770s suggests that
Ephraim (Sr.) may have married one of the Collier girls."

Am searching for information on the Carroll County Colliers & their possible
relationship to the Dickens family.

Thank you in advance for any information. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Mike Peters
