Was it a common occurrence for people who lived elsewhere in the state to be 
"transported" into a new county? What measure of proof did the one doing the 
transporting or the one being transported have to provide?
 
My ancestor was transported into Orange Co., VA saying he was from Ireland. 
The person who transported him was his older first cousin and it is believed 
they were both previously from Essex Co., VA.
