Could anyone on the list tell me if there was once a HAMPSHIRE county
in Virginia? I know that there is one in West Virginia, formed from
Frederick Co., VA, but I wonder if there was once one by this name in
old Virginia.

I found the following on a tax list:
The 1781-82 Hampshire County, Virginia Personal Property Tax List
RANDALL, Abel
RANDALL, Alexander

Now I'm wondering where to look for information on these men.
