I was delighted to read that this custom was not confined to New England!
When in college, eons ago, I wrote a term paper on the old New England custom
of bundling and I thank John Scott Davenport for his correct description -
complete with bundling board! Evidently the custom persisted into recent
memory. Good things never grow old!!
