were in the Church of England (Episcopal) and baptism (christening) can (and
usually did) take place anytime from a few months (six months for example) old
upward. Usually there is a later confirmation process when the child is age
12 or so. Lutheran, Presbyterians, Catholics also practice infant baptism.
Baptists , of course, do not have infant baptism and wait for baptism until the
child or adult can speak for themselves as to their belief.
