I think the high volume of posts on certain subjects reflects intense
interest in those subjects.  I have paged through many an eye-glazing
discussion on this list and others, but I don't complain.  If I don't like
it or don't care, I delete.  I don't think it's a good thing to shut down
discussions just when they get interesting.  Eventually everyone moves on
anyway.
