One of the guides for the library says that there are few surviving records
of county militia service in the Revolution. The book _Patrick Henry, the
Henry County Years_ lists a militia group from Henry County that marched to the
relief of General Greene and includes my ancestor, John Acoff (should be Acuff),
but does not give a citation for the listing which it claims is the only true
and correct list. Anyone have any ideas how I could authenticate that
information?
