Kathlene,

The Meriwether Smith who married Alice Lee was a son of Colonel Francis 
Smith and his first wife Lucy Meriwether.  So, it appears that Meriwether 
Smith's daughter Mrs. Lettice Lee (Smith) Rust was a member of the same 
Smith family as the later Francis Smith who married Letty Nuphis/Nuphus. 
The Edward Smith who married Lettice Green, however, was PROBABLY from an 
unrelated Smith family.
