I have been requested to advise the many subscribers to Va-Hist and
Va-Roots of the death this week of historian and archivist, Dr. John S.
Hopewell, a colleague well known to many researchers at the Library of
Virginia. There is an obituary in the Richmond Times-Dispatch of 9
January 2004, which may be viewed at
http://www.legacy.com/TimesDispatch/LegacySubPage2.asp?Page=LifeStory&Pe
