Am not familiar with the records of Frederick County, but have you 
checked possible published records for "hidden" mentions of Chambers, 
i.e. those not indexed under his name in the original records but indexed in 
possible published records, that might shed some light on the situation--
including the surrounding land records that another member mentioned?
