"Next friend" is a legal term for someone who files a lawsuit on behalf of a
minor or disabled person, typically that person's parent or guardian.

Incidentally, I descend from an Easter Davis, daughter of William and
Elizabeth of Cumberland County, who married Thomas Morgan.
