Patrick...

He is listed in the "List of the revolutionary soldiers of Virginia. Special report of the Department of Archives and History for 1912" (1913)
Page 70 of the digital document. It looks like he was in the 5th and 9th Virginia Regiments of the Continental Line. (See page 9).

The book is available on Internet Archive.

There is a very large amount of genealogical data on the Cocke families here in Virginia. Check the Virginia Magazine of History and Biography, William and Mary Quarterly, and Tyler's Quarterly. There is an index for the earlier volumes called "Swem's Index". I strongly suspect Pleasant Cocke will be in there.

Good Luck with your research.

Sincerely,

Thank you for the prompt reply. I am not familiar with the volume you speak of. Of course I have heard of it.
There were other Cocke's with the given name of Pleasant.
Which does cause a conundrum. Hard to sort out.
Pleasant Cocke and wife Elizabeth had a dau Elizabeth who married George Pyle. This is my lineage.
I note on Ancestry that my Pleasant Cocke is listed as dying 1801. No idea where this comes from.
I did a book awhile back on this George Pyle family.
Pleasant Cocke military record has peaked my interest.
As you can see I already SAR, would like to add Pleasant Cocke as Rev War vet.

Patrick
