Good morning,
I have a records management system whereby commercial drawings can be electronic submitted or hand delivered, they are kept in our plans room in bins and/or hanging files. Plans are assigned bin number or HF numbers and information is kept on a excel spreadsheet and in our Tidemark Permit system. Smaller commercial plans are kept in file folders. Site plans are also kept in our plans room organized by color coded numbers, date and year received; information is kept on a spreadsheet that is updated weekly for easy access.
Some Engineering drawing are submitted electronically in a pdf file, then I forward the file to IT Technician who print the drawings to scale.

Can you tell me how your locality keeps drawings that are part of the permit files. I am primary interested in commercial drawings. In addition, if you could tell me how you keep planning files such as site plans, special use permits, zoning, etc.
Finally, if anyone could share contact information for vendors that offer scanning services for engineering drawings it would be appreciated.
