Our e-mail policy requires that the individual departments print and
retain relevant files. It is not the responsibility of the information
systems department to do this for anyone. They have the capability to
retain everything for several months, but must delete stuff in the
server every now and then to accommodate more e-mail files.

Subject: E-mail Retention/Destruction

Just thought I'd ask - how is everybody handling the issue of e-mail? I
would like to know what type of systems different organizations are
using to retain and destroy e-mail.
We (Stafford County Public Schools) are in the process of evaluating
our options (print to
paper, store on hard drives & LAN, or purchasing electronic
recordskeeping software). I am interested in any input that any of you
might have concerning this issue!
