I'm hoping everyone is right because this is the way we have been handling them all along (as adults), especially because they now have a SID Number. A SID Number is the State's Identification Number that is assigned to an individual once they have been charged with a crime.

I would also agree with the others. Once the juvenile is charged and convicted as an adult, it now is an "adult arrest record" which is then governed under that title under GS-17.

For Police Records Administrators or Managers of CCREs
When a juvenile is charged and found guilty as an adult, do you maintain the hard copy of the Central Criminal Records Exchange (CCRE) until 23 (juvenile retention age) or 100 (adult retention age). The applicable code (16.1-299) is not clear on this. Thank you and if possible, can you please cite the authority or code on which you base your answer.
