Hi,

Due to the creation of GS-117, the state general schedule for law enforcement records, an update to GS-108, Fire, Safety and Security was necessary. The updated version of GS-108 is available on our web site: http://www.lva.virginia.gov/agencies/records/sched_state/GS-108.pdf.

The biggest change is that Section II. Dedicated Agency Police or Security Forces no longer exists. All police series have either been moved to GS-117, were superseded by a new series on GS-117, or were made defunct.

No changes were made to Section I. Building or Department Routine Fire, Safety and Security Records, other than to update language and cut-off events for compliance in Infolinx, our schedule management system.

Please pass this information along to pertinent personnel in your agency and direct questions to me off-list.

Thanks,

Jessie
