There will be two lectures next week in Lee Chapel at W&L which might be of
interest to those within easy driving range. At 12 noon on Monday, 10
October, Emory Thomas will be speaking on the role of Robt. E. Lee as
president of Washington College (now W&L). At 8 p.m. the following day (11
October) Melvin Ely from the College of W&M will be discussing his most
recent, Bancroft Award-winning book, "Israel on the Appomattox." Both
lectures are free and open to the general public.
