On November 11, 2009, Gordon S. Wood will discuss Empire of Liberty: A
History of the Early Republic, 1789-1815, the newest volume in the
Oxford History of the United States series, at the University of
Richmond at 4:30 p.m. in the Brown-Alley Room in Weinstein Hall. Book
signing and reception will follow at 5:30 p.m. This program is sponsored
by the John Marshall International Center for the Study of Statesmanship
at the University's Jepson School of Leadership Studies. The program is
