Everyone,

You are invited to attend a book talk at the Library of Virginia, in
historic downtown Richmond, on Thursday, 17 May,
at noon

Join authors Sarah Shields Driggs and Robert P. Winthrop for a discussion of

"Richmond's Monument Avenue"

This stunning new book, published by the University of North Carolina Press,
traces the history of Monument Avenue, of its buildings and statuary, and of
the people who helped create one of America's great streets. It is enhanced
with more than 300 photographs, plans, and drawings, many of which came from
the collections of the Library of Virginia. The book also features beautiful
color photographs of Monument Avenue today by photographer John O. Peters,
who will also be present. The book's third author, Richard Guy Wilson, could
not be with us, but you can expect a fascinating discussion of one of
America's most memorable urban places.

A book signing will follow. Copies of the book are available for purchase at
the Library Shop.

Sponsored by the Library of Virginia, the Virginia Center for the Book, and
the Library of Virginia Foundation.
