Winthrop for a discussion of "Richmond's Monument Avenue" This stunning new book, published by the University of North Carolina Press, traces the history of Monument Avenue, of its buildings and statuary, and of the people who helped create one of America's great streets. It is enhanced with more than 300 photographs, plans, and drawings, many of which came from the collections of the Library of Virginia. The book also features beautiful color photographs of Monument Avenue today by photographer John O. Peters, who will also be present. The book's third author, Richard Guy Wilson, could not be with us, but you can expect a fascinating discussion of one of America's most memorable urban places. A book signing will follow.
