This is a fascinating, informative and valuable discussion, but with all due respect, it's beginning to seem that unless we make an anti-bigotry
declaration with each posting, OR if we don't respond to all outlandish postings and "declare ourselves,"  we are apt to be criticized.   Not everyone has both the time and  inclination to state an opinion on every posting... or even to read them all.  A little tolerance amongst us wouldn't be a totally bad thing.

PS Before I'm criticized, please know that  I do not believe in any degree of tolerance to any form of slavery, and in fact, took Neil's advice a week or so ago, and linked up with an active, anti-slavery organization.
