"Speaker John" Robinson, Speaker of the House of Burgesses, Treasurer of
Virginia, "most powerful man in Virginia", responsible for a financial
scandal after the French and Indian War.

Son, Colonel Beverley Robinson, Loyalist, stayed in NY after French and
Indian War. Intimately involved in the Benedict Arnold treason along with
John Andre. Attacked the James River area with Benedict Arnold. Negotiated
with Ethan Allen to align Vermont with Canada. His wife Susanna (Philipse)
and wife's sister Mary (romantic relationship with G. Washington) are the
only women to be declared traitors to the Revolution and their lands
confiscated.
