I too am interested in that area.  Genealogical research has led me to the
area of 19th (extended) to about 23rd.  Contemporary maps don't have much
detail and it seems to be an area of Irish and German immigrant laborers and
craftspeople (my ancestors found in census between 1820 and 1900.  The
Lunatic Asylum was located slightly north of there.  Some maps seem to note
parts of that area as belonging to Union Hill.
