Thanks for the link to the Templeton site. I've looked at it and will spend
some time with it.

There is a lot of literature on this subject. Here is a short list:

Randy E. Barnett The Structure of Liberty

Peter Berger, ed. The Capitalist Spirit: Toward a
Religious Ethic of Wealth Creation

Walter Block, Geoffrey Morality of the Market: Religious and
Brennan, and Kenneth Economic Perspectives
Elzinga, ed.

David Friedman The Machinery of Freedom

Loren E. Lomasky Persons, Rights, and the Moral
Community

Murray N. Rothbard The Ethics of Liberty

John T. Sanders and Jan For and Against the State
Narveson

All of these carry the libertarian nihil obstat, but Berger, Block, and
Sanders and Narveson are collections of essays which cover a variety of
points of view.

Sam

You, and anyone else foolhardy enough to follow our conversation here, may
find it useful to consult the Templeton Foundation's web site, which posts
essays by a wide variety of eminent scholars and statesmen on the following
question: "Does the Free Market corrode moral character?"
