The Senior Director of Development for The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation is a senior level position that oversees the Development Department and is responsible for strategic direction, management and implementation of all aspects of the organization's fund-raising efforts including: membership and member events, special events, donor research, grant proposals and monitoring, Industry Council (preservation related businesses), capital campaign and planned giving. Position Reports to President and CEO.

Responsibilities:

· Work closely with the board, committees, the President, staff and volunteers as the senior staff member overseeing development.

· Supervise staff and oversee administration and budgeting for the development department.

· Coordinate development activities with other departments.

· Serve as a member of the senior management committee and contribute to the overall administration of The Georgia Trust.

· Promote the work of the Trust to business and state and community leaders, civic organizations, preservation groups and others. 

Qualifications:

· 10+ years of management experience
· development expertise with demonstrable success
· ability to network with and cultivate volunteers (including board members) donors, members and other community organizations
· knowledge of Atlanta and Georgia
· excellent writing and editing skills
· demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and collaboration skills
· ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment. 
· minimum bachelor's degree. Advanced degree(s) and knowledge of historic preservation preferred.

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience.
