You may have already heard that the Library of Virginia recently received a 
Save America’s Treasures Grant to preserve a collection of Thomas Jefferson’s 
gubernatorial papers. This week’s post describes why these papers need 
preservation now and how the entire story is connected to a man named 
William J. Barrow in 1930s and 1940s Richmond. A second post displays a 
capias writ from Frederick County meant for George Washington. Perhaps 
readers familiar with Washington can provide additional information about the 
circumstances it describes. See both posts in the Out of the Box blog from our
