You may have already heard that the Library of Virginia recently received a Save America’s Treasures Grant to preserve a collection of Thomas Jefferson’s gubernatorial papers. This week’s post describes why these papers need preservation now and how the entire story is connected to a man named William J. Barrow in 1930s and 1940s Richmond. A second post displays a capias writ from Frederick County meant for George Washington. Perhaps readers familiar with Washington can provide additional information about the circumstances it describes.
