Greetings Everyone,
Virginia-based historians Ed Ayers, Peter Onuf, and Brian Balogh--the
hosts of public radio's "BackStory with the American History Guys"
(www.backstoryradio.org)--will hold a live taping of the show on the
topic of "Looking for Work: A History of Unemployment." The event will
take place on June 19th at 5:30pm at the Miller Center for Public
Affairs in Charlottesville.
In the course of the free event, the American History Guys will take
"calls" from the audience, play audio features, and discuss major
turning points in the history of unemployment, with the goal of shedding
light on what current high unemployment rates could mean for us today as
a nation. A reception with the Guys will follow; it is open to the
public, but registration is required. (Register at
