I don't remember this being on my radar screen in my American History studies that seems more like Ancient History 
at this stage of my life so I must ask: Did they specifically act on their "talk (sic) succession"?

I understand the current issue is in petition form or some other similar mechanism for an "action". If I were 
correct, it would be beyond just the "talk" stage and in a "real" political embryonic stage.
