Everyone, The Historic Fredericksburg Foundation is sponsoring a book reading, discussion and signing of, Notes And Documents of Free Persons of Color. The event will be held on August 11, 2005, at Central Rappahannock Library. AFRICAN AMERICANS AT ROCKETS LANDING EXHIBIT: There is an exhibit at the Patrick Henry Building Lobby, of the Capital Rotunda in Richmond. The Exhibit is titled African Americans at Rocketts Landing. The exhibit features, Charles Lewis, one of my ancestors who served in the Revolutionary War out of Fredericksburg. He and his brother Ambrose, were first Seamen, and then Foot Soldiers in the Revolutionary War. They fought at, The Battle of Camden South Carolina. After his service Charles Lewis moved to Richmond, and owned property at Rocketts Landing.
