The marriage info that I have collected between 1850-1853
are from marriage bonds and minister returns. Regardless of Color, these
mostly contain,
his name, her name, witness name, sometimes a name of a parent and
minister.
Having said that:
There are two that have mothers listed.......
One that has place of birth listed,
STARTING in October of 1853 licenses are starting to come into use:
A more "official" or formal ruling in 1858 & again in 1861 give rise to
the marriage license with
3 dates, Date applied for lic, Date of Marriage, Date Filed, Most times
this is the same, I have had a few were the dates were very far apart.
They also contain, where available, his name, her name, age,of both
parties. martial status, place of birth, current residence, parents names, grooms
occupation and minister.
a few will contain "where" the marriage took place, as " at the residence
of the brides parents" or In Norfolk city, or AT St. Paul's.......
So the ones in 1858 & 1859 later, have additional info, again regardless
of color. IF KNOWN.
hope this helps,
Kristina
