Cynthia, I am forwarding your email to someone who I am 99% positive
connects to the Diuguid line. In fact, Wm's wife was a Henry of Scotland
and her name was Jean. Jean Henry is the sister of John Henry and Col
Patrick Henry. John is the father of "the" Patrick Henry.

Could we discuss this online, please?
I have Sampsons in Goochland and Augusta Counties connected to the Diuguid
family as well as a possible connection in Brunswick Co. to the Dugger
family. This all occurs 1740-1790. I have been trying to determine if
there is a connection between Diuguid and Dugger (sometimes recorded as
Dugood, Dugerd, Duggerd, Duggard, etc.).
I have Nancy Sampson married William Diuguid 1784 in Goochland. He is the
son of William Diuguid of Scotland and Augusta Co., VA and Anne Moss of New
Kent Co., VA. Her parents are unknown. Sampson Dugger was born before 1760
to James Dugger and Sarah (unknown)). James Dugger died before 1783 in
Brunswick Co., VA

Byron;
Please contact me directly.
I'm interested in what you have concerning "1722 will in Henrico County,
VA".
The Sampson family was in VA at that time and moving to Smith County, TN.
Thanks,
Dick Sampson

Shirley,
Could Rees Jones be a corruption of Rice Jones?
I have a note in my files that Rice Jones was named as a son-in-law
of Edward Bowman in his 1722 will in Henrico County, VA. A daughter named
Frances was also named.
Regards,
Byron Bowman

Hello..I am back to researching my Cox paternal line..Please, may I have a
bit of assistance?
I have read where Henry Cox d. before 1744 (son of George Cox and Martha
Stratton) was married to a Mary Jones whose parents were Rees Jones and
Frances Bowman. I have googled and searched..obviously haven't searched hard
enough; but am at least reaching out for some hints!
Thank you for any clues.
Best,
Shirley Cox Schroeder
