I don't see any mention on Norris in the papers I have of this Norfleet
family.

Subject: Re: [VA-ROOTS] Nansemond county
I have seen the NORFLEET surname mentioned in the
Nansemond posts. For some years, I have been trying
to connect the NORFLEETs with my NORRIS ancestors.
Both these families were in the ne corner counties of NC -
particularly Northampton and Gates. Perhaps like so
many others in lower Tidewater VA who populated ne
NC, some of my kin did also.
By the early 1800s, Nathaniel NORFLEET was a
land agent in Old Orange Co, NC, with offices in
Hillsborough. He sold property in what is now Person
Co to my g+grandfather, William NORRIS [died 1834].
Anyone have information on the movements of the
NORFLEET or NORRIS families?
