The oldest burials are within the fence enclosing Blandford Church. The
large cemetery lies to the rear and sides of the church, parts of which are
terraced and park-like in keeping with the social aspect of cemeteries in the
past. Many of the squares mentioned are surrounded by low fences of what look
to be cast-iron construction, but I could be wrong about that. The visitors'
center/cemetery office to the right of the church has parking and the records
mentioned earlier.
I was able to enter just a surname in the LVA database, and the table
brought up is laid out in a manner that will allow you to compare which people are
buried near each other.
Tours of the church and grounds are available and worth taking.

The squares are about 30x30 I guess (just from memory), and most are
dedicated to a family. Many however seem to have multiple unrelated families in
them, probably because the family just decided not to buy a full square.
The cemetery office has the ownership records.

Well, you know how it is, new information leads to new questions, so -

I have never been to this cemetery & have no clue how big the ³squares² are,
referenced in the database. Are the ³square¹s² usually dedicated family
plots -or- are they liable to have unrelated people buried in the same
"square"?
IOW, can one assume that a group of people buried in the same ward & same
square are related somehow or other??
2nd -
Are there any extant records of ownership of the burial plots?
Thanks!
