Here's another brick in the wall:
OLDHAM, Edward b.d. & place unknown, m. 1791 Sarah DISHMAN. Inherited land
King George Co. VA 1791 from Samuel OLDHAM, magistrate & judge Westmoreland
and King George counties. Edward was a member of the vestry of Hanover
Parish, King George Co. VA. Edward d. 1795 King George Co. VA. Only clue
I've been able to find,, and it may be irrelevant after all, is a 1759 entry
in the Westmoreland Co Court Order Books. A bondwoman of Samuel's was
brought before the court and order to be whipped due to the birth of an
illegitimate child and her bond extended due to the "trouble" caused to his
household by her lying in. Could the child have been Edward? Birth date
could fit. Can't prove it or find his parents. Any ideas?
