For those interested in the combined use of DNA and historical research to
establish the legal identity of a deceased person, there was a fascinating
article recently in the NY Times. It's still available online -- "Military
Lab Puts Name on a Long-Lost Airman," March 24, 2006, by Michael Wilson.
It's a very intriguing case study in setting standards for genealogical
"certainty."
