The Middle Peninsula African-American Historical and Genealogical Society was
formed in September of last year. Meetings are held on the second Saturday
of each month at 11:00 a.m. at the Essex County Public Library in Tappahannock,
Virginia. Each meeting includes some type of presentation on a subject of
interest to African-American genalogists. For example, at our meeting on
yesterday we had a presentation on researching free people of color. The meetings
are free and open to the public. I would be happy to notify you of the topics
for subsequent meetings.
