Greetings - I am writing in reference to a posting that was made to VA-ROOTS
regarding research in Culpeper.
You might want to try a new resource that we have not released yet:
http://eagle.vsla.edu/vhi
Try searching keyword Culpeper. Also, you can combine terms to narrow the
search. In the case of Humphreys, I found one hit with both terms:
http://eagle.vsla.edu/cgi-bin/vhi.gateway?bib=0020-06360&conf=010000++++++++
++++++
This is the Martin home near Richardsville; however, Thomas Humphreys was
the original owner.
There are also entries for Slaughter (family cemetery tombstone
inscriptions), Hebron, Germanna, and if you do a search on "Field family"
you will get 3 hits, one of which is:
http://eagle.vsla.edu/cgi-bin/vhi.gateway?bib=0018-82760&conf=010000++++++++
++++++
which also has Field family cemetery tombstone inscriptions in Culpeper.
If you would like to look at a map of Culpeper showing the family and church
cemeteries that were inventoried, click here:
