These lists have been very helpful to me in Lunenburg County VA.  On the
1788 PPTx list for Lunenburg, I located the minor son, Thomas, of Thomas
Leverett .  Thomas Leverett left a will in 1783 in Lunenburg and named only
one child...."...when my son Thomas comes of age...."  Thomas Leverett
listed on the 1783 PPTx list owned 2 or 3 cows....that's all, but he was
there : )

Females are also listed as property owners.  His mother, Jean Leverett , was
listed.  This is one place researchers can find a female at this time.
Lunenburg Personal Property Tax Lists begin in 1782.
