Edward Ayers is Tucker-Boatwright Professor of the Humanities at the University of Richmond, where he is President Emeritus. Over four decades of work of writing history, experimenting with digital scholarship, collaborating in public history, and teaching and leading in higher education, Ed has found new ways to connect people with the American past. He recently launched New American History, a website designed to make visible what was previously invisible about our shared American story through the use of interactive maps, video, and audio.
