These are just some possibilities for a family for a Nancy Sanders.  I have no solid information on a particular Nancy.

Goochland County is adjacent to and on the opposite side of the river from Buckingham County.  In 1729 Ana Adams (my family) married Thomas Sanders.  They had 14 children and among them eight sons born from about 1730 to 1755.  Any of those eight would have been about the right age to have a daughter born in 1770. (James, William, Adam, Thomas, John, Stephen, Robert and Daniel).   It looks like many of the Sanders children ended up near what is today Wythe County, VA to the south and west of Buckingham County.  Nancy was a very common name in the Adams' families during that period.  Then again, it was probably pretty common in all families.

I am searching for information on John Rakes of Buckingham County VA and his wife name unknown.

John would have born about 1775 and lived in Buckingham County in the Walton Fork area. His wife has been reported to be Nancy Sanders/Saunders born abt 1770. There has been many who think this Nancy Sanders was the daughter of John Sanders and Sarah Grant but that has been proven false.

There is enough tradition that would make the name Nancy Sanders possible just not the daughter of John and Sarah.

There is another John Sanders living in Buckingham County with a wife's name of Judith which is a possibility.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated
