Book: "Meriwether Lewis and His Kin", Sarah Lewis
Travers Anderson, Richmond Dietz Press, 1938.

If someone has access to this book I would very much appreciate a
lookup.

My HUTCHISON kin of Orange, Loudoun and Pr. William
counties have used LEWIS as a family name for many
years, supposedly because we were kin to Meriwether.
There is no record of how.

The closest I can come to it is:
Joseph LEWIS, b. abt. 1773, d. ??, of Orange county,
married Nancy FAULCONER. Nancy's sister was Lucy
Faulconer, 1788-1848, my g g g grandmother, who
married William NEWMAN, Jr. 8/24/1809, in Orange.

I have been unable to trace Joseph back to Meriwether.
Meriwether's sister was Jane Meriwether Lewis Anderson,
m. Edmund Anderson 5/18/1785, presumeably kin to the author of
the above book.

Any other ideas also would be appreciated.
