I wished some of the meetings were Zoom Meetings, because I live in Florida.

Subject: Slatten Lecture Registration Extended to Nov. 2, 2021

It’s not too late to be part of the annual Slatten Lecture sponsored by the
Friends of the Virginia State Archives. For 21 years, the Friends have
brought top genealogical speakers to the Library of Virginia to share their
expertise and provide insights into research methodology.  After a break
caused by COVID, the Friends are pleased to continue this effort with its
annual in-person Slatten Lecture to be held at the Library, 800 East Broad
Street, Richmond, VA, 23219, on Saturday, November 6, 2021, with
registration commencing at 8:30 am.

Certified Genealogist Vic Dunn will discuss how to use newspapers to put
your ancestors in social context, how records in neighboring states can
offer clues for Virginia research, how to use overlooked personal papers
and business records collections for genealogical information, and how land
platting can be used in problem solving.  A copy of the program and
registration brochure are available at the e-mail address below.

Registration is extended to *November 2nd*. Fees are $35 for members of the
Friends or $50 for non-members and include a box lunch.  Pre-registration
is recommended.

Sign up now by calling Anne Taylor Brown at 804-741-0136 or e-mail
