A held hand-mirror reflecting the right-time-of-day sunlight creating shadows
in the engravings is the ticket for reading weatherworn tombstones. Chopping
down old trees and sprinkling, rubbing, lathering or otherwise touching old
stones is not good. Leaving pocket change nearby is a tradition in some camps.
