Have been doing genealogy research for many years as one of my hobbies, I am
currently researching my G-Grandfather "Richard Marrin" and my
G-G-Grandfather "Patrick Marrin".
Richard lived his later years in Brooklyn, New York but on his death
certificate it states he was born in Virginia and that his parents were
Patrick Marrin and Ellen Quade or McQuade. Patrick and Ellen are both listed
as being born in Ireland. Richards death certificate is the only place I
have been able to see patrick and Ellen in print.
Richard was born in 1871 and I have found a listing for his birth in
Richmond, but I do not have a hard copy of the certificate to view any
further information.
The only other information that connects my family to Virginia is a very old
photo of a Richmond police officer with the inscription "Uncle John,
Richmond police" (he could be Richards or Patricks brother).
I can attach Richards death certificate or Johns photo if requested.
I have hit a brick wall regarding the marrin's in Virginia and could use any
help that is out there. Living out of state it is hard to put my feet on the
ground.
There are many variants of the spelling of "Marrin".
Thank you for your help in this matter. Richard Catena
