Good afternoon:
I kindly ask for correspondence from any who had discussions (lively, I am sure!) with my father Paul Dean Drake prior to his passing.
I am his youngest daughter and spent many hours in musty courthouses and soggy cemeteries with my dad .
I would like to expand his legacy with an informal biography of him for my family. I humbly request copies or links to any correspondence regarding any topic he may have had with his extended family on VA-Roots.
He instilled in me the value of primary resources- (though we had many discussions about the definition)-and I would like to see and humbly attempt documentation of his life from the perspective of his historian/genealogy peers.
I have been able to access much through the archives- but would like to expand the depth.
To those that extended their condolences to us upon his passing- please know that I am touched even now- 10 yrs after his death.
I am in possession of all of his notes... a lifetime of research...mind boggling to say the least...Much of it handwritten in his crappy/illegible handwriting ;) before computer assistance.
With heartfelt appreciation - Cheryl
